As a radio station just over a year old we celebrate all things Scottish around the world and have celebrated events and festivals such as LGBT Pride Month, International Woman’s Day and Burns Night. We are proud to add another celebration to our calendar of on-air events the IRANIAN NEW YEAR.
Ayrshire Online Radio presenter Rozina Dinaa is Iranian and lives in Troon with her Scottish Husband. She loves Scotland and our culture and has been a valued member of the station since its birth in March of 2020. We are very privileged to have Rozina with her Persian Kitchen Recipe feature every Thursday Morning at 11.30am and the very popular Love song’s Show on a Sunday at 10pm till 11pm.
Nowruzنوروز is the name of Iranian new year which is first day of the Spring. Nowruz has been celebrated in Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan …... About 300 million people across the world are celebrating Persian New Year - or Nowruz. The 3,000-year-old festival begins on the first day of the year in the Iranian calendar and is also a celebration of Spring. All Iranians in all over the world celebrate Nowruz, no matter where they are.
